We are sun-setting Prodcircle, FOR GOOD!

Hello my friend,

So, today's email is going to be a bit different. It's more of an announcement than a lesson learned or any educating content that I have shared with you before.

TL;DR

  • After a huge success of Prodcircle, we are shutting it down. I dont want to produce a show that is not helping anyone anymore. All content is and will be available on my website
  • We are committing to producing a lot of amazing documentaries.
  • Starting next week this newsletter will re-branded as 'Beyond the Hype'
  • If you dont want to listen again from me, please unsubscribe. I thank you for being a part of my journey.

A bit explained version

In the last year or so, I have had a pleasure of hosting more than 100 VCs and Unicorn founders on our podcast. We crossed 150,000+ downloads and amassed more than 20,000+ followers across platforms. To whatever standard you hold, that is a huge success considering a very niche topic and audience. But, I'm calling it a day.

Why? Glad you asked

After recording 100+ episodes, 35 of those that we could never publish, I realized the industry is not exciting. Most of the guests want to do dozens of re-takes, have their media/PR teams review the episodes multiple times and what not. Some even flat out said don't publish our episodes as we need to maintain our media image for business - which is fine, I get it from the business perspective but its not great for our business. I realized the interviews were getting boring, same questions, same answers, same political correct statements - just different faces.

What now?

I met some amazing people along the way like founders / executive / investors of Privateer Space, Anduril, Boom Supersonic, Radiant Nuclear and a lot more. And I can see they are solving big, huge problems for our future. But, you dont know their stories as well as you know the story of your next favorite SaaS. Most of these deep tech companies at early stages cant afford to hire a media production crew or team to share their stories to the masses. That is what we will do.

Introducing Beyond the Hype:

At BTH, we will go a step deeper - in telling the story, in explaining the technology, in explaining the problem, and in explaining why they are solving it.

"Discover the untold stories of emerging deep-tech startups, bringing you early access to the innovations and the passionate people behind them, all through optimistic and insightful storytelling."

Chatgpt helped me write this statement which kinda sounds funky but also describe the vibe.

What does that mean for us now?

All of our previous editions are public and will stay public.

But, starting next week this newsletter will be branded as Beyond the Hype. We will produce documentaries, short form content, and hopefully amazing essays on Linkedin + Web.

I really think you will enjoy what we are working on.
For those, who want to stick around, I have a big ask. Please subscribe to the channel here.

But, if you decide that is not for you. Please unsubscribe. I will not spam you, sell your data to anyone. I never did and never will. To those of you who decide to part ways, thank you for the journey. Its been a pleasure. I'm always happy to help you in future in anyway I can. You already have my linkedin.

Until next time,

M.
